Unbelievable Excuses Your Kids Might Come Up With for Being Home Late
Has your child ever come up with an excuse for being home late that made you both crack up? Here are some hilarious and creative reasons that might just make you smile (and maybe even laugh out loud).
The Monkey Adventure
Once upon a time, a young boy was about 8 or 9 years old when he was caught right after curfew. He confessed to taking a walk through some woods he wasn't supposed to enter. The neighborhood quickly turned into a search as he had gone missing. His tale started to include an adventurous plot where a monkey appeared, but it didn't stop there. According to him, a man attempted to take him, but the brave boy managed to escape. My buddy mentioned that the mention of a monkey might have tipped him off as they rarely see one in Missouri, the child's location in America. When asked if he knew the consequences of a false story, the child replied with comically big eyes. It's hard not to laugh at his creativity!
The Postman Quest
Another incident happened during a snowy night when post boxes were inaccessible due to ice and snow. A young boy was delivering a letter for Mrs. Sutherland, a neighbor he frequently helped. He noticed her struggling to post the letter and decided to do it for her. The path to the post box was quite steep, and by the time he returned with the biscuit his reward, his mother was already worried. Just as she was about to shout for him, he came by the door shouting, "Coming, Mum!" and explained to the entire street that he had post the letter so Mrs. Sutherland wouldn't fall and hurt herself.
Emergency Situation
The last excuse might have been a bit more serious, but it still shows the thought and reasoning behind the child's story. When his girlfriend's mother got into a physical fight with the girlfriend, the boy refused to leave her to get medical help. Despite this being a heartwarming and supportive act, it wasn't an excuse for being late. His mother eventually received a text that he would explain everything later, but as a mother, she was concerned and let him off the hook.
These stories highlight the creativity and human nature of children. As parents, sometimes these situations can be frustrating, but it's important to remember that these are the times that bond us and create meaningful memories. Whether it's a funny story involving a monkey or a serious act of kindness, these experiences are valuable and worth cherishing.
