Perfect Mango Rice: A Flavorful Recipe for the Mango Season

1 large raw mango Cooked rice 1 tablespoon oil 1 teaspoon chana dal 1 teaspoon urad dal 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 3 red chillies, chopped Chopped green chilli Chopped ginger Peanuts 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida powder Curry leaves 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder Salt

Instructions

Start by peeling one large raw mango and grating it according to the amount of rice you are using. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a pan. Add one tablespoon each of chana dal and urad dal. Also, add half a teaspoon of cumin seeds, peanuts, and red chillies. Once the peanuts are roasted, add half a teaspoon of asafoetida powder and some fresh curry leaves. Add the grated raw mango to the pan after 2 minutes. Then, add chopped green chillies and chopped ginger. Sprinkle salt and a quarter tablespoon of turmeric powder. Mix in the cooked rice until everything is well combined. Serve this flavorful rice with a side of crispy papad for a delightful meal.

Another Simple Method:

In a pan, use sesame oil and mustard to create a tempering. Once the mustard cracks, add urad dal, channa dal, and green chillies. Grate the uncooked mango and keep it ready. Cook and cool the rice completely. Combine the tempering, grated mango, and salt to taste and mix well. Mango Rice is ready. Serve with any chips.
