Commissioning of five bridges: The commissioning of five bridges in Mumbai, an area known for its overcrowded suburban network, significantly improved the transportation capacity. Parcel trains for essential supplies: The railways started scheduled parcel trains to ensure the timely delivery of essential commodities. Focus on freight transport: The railways doubled the freight transportation speed and introduced cost-effective transportation solutions like the Kisan Rail. Export from various locations: Goods like turmeric, dry chillies, onions, and trucks were exported to Bangladesh, showcasing the railways' role in international trade.
