Here's a detailed guide to perfect your garlic butter shrimp:

Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter 4-6 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste) 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional) 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat) Salt and pepper to taste Juice of 1/2 lemon (optional) Plenty of cooked shrimp (main dish ingredient)

Instructions

Melt the Butter: In a saucepan, heat the butter over medium heat until it has fully liquefied. Add Garlic: Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic as it can become bitter. Season: Add salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to taste. Stir well. Add Lemon Juice (optional): If desired, squeeze in the juice of half a lemon and stir well to infuse the sauce with tanginess. Finish with Parsley: Remove the sauce from heat and stir in the chopped parsley to add freshness. Serve: Pour the garlic butter sauce over the cooked shrimp and toss to coat evenly. You can also serve this sauce on the side as a dip.

Tips for Added Flavor:

Include other herbs like thyme or oregano for enhanced flavor. This garlic butter sauce is versatile and can be used for pasta, vegetables, or as a dip for bread.

My Personal Recipe for Garlic Shrimp

This is my favorite recipe for garlic shrimp, and it's a hit with my husband! Here's what I do:

Mince about 7-8 cloves of garlic and place it in a ziplock bag with some olive oil, fresh thyme, fresh rosemary, and basil. >Add a pinch of ground Celtic Grey sea salt and some fresh pepper, and marinate the shrimp for 30 minutes to several hours. Kerrygold Irish butter is also an excellent choice, as it creates a garlic and herb butter that is divine! Pre-heat your pan until it's hot, and add some of the garlic herb butter and a little olive oil to the pan. Once it's sizzling, add the marinated shrimp and keep moving them around the pan on medium to high heat until they are cooked through. Pour the butter sauce over the shrimp, and enjoy!

Note: Celtic Grey sea salt is my salt of choice because it enhances the flavor of seafood incredibly well. You can also finish with a fine Celtic sea salt to taste.
