Why Would God Want to Turn His Back on You?
These questions often swirl around in our minds when we feel abandoned. Many believe sin separates us from God, but delve into the scriptures, and the truth is ever so different. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, died on the cross for us. All that’s required of us is to repent and come clean with God. He knows every thought, every hiding, every silent cry. There's nothing hidden from our God. God sees everything.
Before most of my life was ravaged by abuse and anguish, I often claimed these same words. But deep down, I knew my Lord Jesus Christ was always there, in the midst of my turmoil. He was present during the sexual, physical, and mental abuse. Without recognizing His presence, I couldn't survive the forced abortion. It was a chaotic hurricane surrounding me, yet my God was there in it all. I heard His voice: “It is not your time to come, my daughter.”
Listen to His voice. God speaks to your inner man, just as your conscience speaks in your mind. Learn how to hear His voice and try the spirit to see whether it be of God. Through these experiences, I discovered His presence, guiding and strengthening my soul.
The Lord Not Existing vs. The Lord Forsaking You
The difference between believing in God's non-existence and feeling forsaken is striking. Those who claim that God exists but forsakes us can be quite dismissive. They often assert that God's actions have nothing to do with our goodness or badness. According to scripture, God indeed did forsake those who followed His commands.
John the Baptist, for instance, faced God's forsaking. He was beheaded because he stood firm in his message, just as Moses was banished for striking a rock out of anger. God did not spare Moses for his anger, nor did He spare John for his unwavering righteousness. These stories emphasize that God's actions are not always dictated by our actions alone.
Throughout my journey, there have been moments where I felt forsaken and moments where I felt abandoned. I empathize with you, and I do not mock or shame you, for these feelings are shared by many. Take care, as my friend, because we are never alone in our struggles.
God Never Turning His Back on His Children
When we falter, God sends His shepherd to bring us back to the fold. His love and care are unwavering, and no matter how lost we may feel, He guides us back with grace and mercy.
Let us find comfort and strength in this truth. Trust in God's unwavering love and embrace the moments of peace and strength He provides. Build a relationship with Him through prayer and reflection, and allow His presence to guide you through the storms of life.
