Embrace Your Inner Beauty: An Attitude of Self-Love and Positivity

Life is a precious gift, and with it comes endless possibilities. It is important to cultivate a positive mindset and think big, even if many might question it. If you give your best, whether your dreams come true or not, you have done your part. Don't be afraid to embrace yourself and treat yourself with the same care and love you would give to a close friend or family member.

Personal Experiences of Self-Care

One day, I was about to have my lunch. My husband, being on a national duty, was not at home. My friend, Suma, came over and asked, "Hey, what are you doing? Going somewhere? What for lunch?" Curiosity got the better of her, and she looked at my plate and started laughing.

Accustomed to a simple yet elegant setup, I had a neatly pressed cotton saree, a fresh flower (though not a rose) in a glass vase, and a neat dining scene with music and a ceramic dinner plate. I served myself some little made vermicelli upma and curd, along with a little leftover rice from the previous night and curd. I had a small wooden agarbatti box, which filled my home with the pleasant scent of sandalwood.

Suma's laughter continued as she remarked, "Rama, you are impossible! For this lunch, this much scene!" She was used to eating quickly, standing with the plate in hand. I responded with a smile, saying, "Suma, I can do that, but I don't want to. I love to date myself."

It was then that I told her, "Am I that despicable? Do I not deserve to love myself and to pamper myself?" Suma, amused, exclaimed, "You have gone nuts! I thought you were going somewhere. Your husband is not there!"

"I feel sorry for her," I said with a smile. "I like to be well dressed always, for myself. If the family feels happy, that's a bonus. It gives me motivation and makes me feel lively and fresh. I never let myself be lazy."

I further explained, "I don't keep my ceramic ware and glasses only for guests. I love to enjoy them too."

Suma, still incredulous, said, "Oh! In that case, you should have made some food, at least equally worth that plate." In jest, I replied, "Amritham" (meaning 'water') in response, bringing another plastic plate and serving a little upma on it.

"Why this plate for me?" asked Suma with amusement.

"Because it doesn't matter to you!" I replied.

Sanka replied with disbelief, "But you noticed the difference. I like this way. I love myself. I can't treat myself in a clumsy, lazy way when I can take care of it in a better way. When not possible, that is a different thing. Sometimes I don't even want it, and moreover, have you ever seen me untidy?"

Suma nodded her head, saying, "On second thought, I agree with you. But always, it is not possible." I replied, "Then, make it as much as possible instead of ignoring!"

This is my attitude. I am full as well as empty. I am strong as well as vulnerable. Rich in my thoughts. Level-headed. I do not need a fortune to love myself. I can make any adverse situation to my advantage as much as possible.

Believe in Yourself and Realize Your Potential

It is a popular dialogue to believe in oneself, but I differ. The real journey is to realize your potential, your boundaries, your limitations, your capabilities, and your capacities. Once you understand your own limits and strengths, you can plan your life accordingly. If you fail to respect yourself, no one else will.

:green_circle: A positive attitude is the cornerstone of personal development. It enables us to think big and act wisely. Sympathy for others is amplified when we first treat ourselves well. The journey to self-love can be achieved through simple yet deliberate actions in our daily lives, making each moment count.

Key Tips for Practicing Self-Love and Positivity:

Set visualization goals for your day or life, and the steps it will take to achieve them. Practice gratitude. Keep a journal or share moments of joy with others. Take time to pamper yourself, from a warm bath to a light workout. Surround yourself with things that make you happy and inspire you.

By embracing these practices, you can transform your life, one moment at a time.

Conclusion

Remember, self-love and positivity are not only for times of ease and comfort. They are necessary in all aspects of life. By recognizing your potential and capabilities, and treating yourself with respect and love, you can truly live a fulfilling life. Keep striving, keep dreaming, and most importantly, keep loving yourself.
