Cooking: From Expert to Enthusiast
Have you ever wondered how I know how to cook? I not only know how to prepare meals, but I also know how to do it well and efficiently. From breakfasts like hash browns and bacon to a full homemade dinner of clam chowder and baking powder biscuits, I enjoy the art of cooking, even if some might not believe it's necessary for an adult to learn.
For breakfast, yesterday I prepared hash browns shredded, bacon crisp, fried eggs over easy, and toast for four people. Everything was on the table at the same time, showcasing my ability to cook effectively. Tonight, I served a homemade tomato-based clam chowder and baking powder biscuits laden with cheese, all while managing my time to ensure a well-planned meal. It's a true testament to my cooking skills.
However, I must admit that I only cook so I have something to eat. With too many hobbies, I find it challenging to spend too much time cooking. Despite this, I created casserole dishes like a classic pork chops in mushroom soup and expanded to other combinations of meat and sauce. These dishes not only provided me with a delicious meal but also saved time in the long run.
When it comes to chicken dishes, I find them to be the easiest to prepare. A friend of mine is a cooking YouTuber who has provided me with endless inspiration, prompting me to cook a variety of her dishes. I even have a binder full of her recipes printed out, in addition to her cookbook. I have come to love chicken-based meals like chicken Parmesan casserole and sheet pan chicken dishes.
So, when asked if I know how to cook, I can only smile and say, 'Sure, I guess.' Some people say I am really good at it. My enjoyment of cooking stems from a desire to eat well and an appreciation for the effort that goes into preparing a meal. I could go on and on about the dishes I have cooked, but the list is simply too great to enumerate.
One thing I do not cook, however, is seafood. While I am more than happy to make almost any other dish, seafood is not for me. The others who prefer it can have it all they want. When asked about what I have cooked, the answer is simply that it's too great a list to list.
As for the future, I have planned to indulge in a sweet treat after dinner, whether it be a homemade dessert or a store-bought one. Cooking, for me, is not just about the final product but the joy and satisfaction that comes from the preparation and sharing of a meal.
